We were surprised to find that downtown Springfield has an Indian Buffet! However, due to Covid-19 concerns, they were not serving their lunch buffet at this time. So, my mother-in-law, my wife, and I had to pick individual entrees from the menu.
I wanted to stick to a vegan option since we had strayed a bit from out plant-based goals so far on this trip. My choice was Bhindi Masala, a vegan dish with okra, ginger, garlic, onion, and other vegetables. This meal tasted so good, but I was not expecting it to be so spicy. It started out tasting delicious, but then the heat of the dish intensified to a very strong level. Other than the intense spiciness, it was very good.
The service was very attentive and friendly, with some silly jokes added. The atmosphere was welcoming and clean, which is very important. The restaurant was following Covid-19 safety procedures, and everyone had their temperature taken upon entry.
I would definitely like to come back with my family and try some other dishes. It is great to know that Springfield, Missouri has an authentic Indian restaurant with a great menu and atmosphere.

I ordered the Vegetarian Thali, a set meal that included naan, two curries, rice, and a dessert. One curry was vegan & one was vegetarian. The desert was rice pudding.Very good!

It was delicious! I would go back!
